Waikato International Education Strategy

International education is the fourth largest export industry in New Zealand, currently generating export revenues in excess of $4 billion and supporting over 30,000 jobs.

Education New Zealand's vision for the country's international education industry is that quality education services are highly sought after internationally and that they expand our international social, cultural and economic engagement.

The goals of international education in the Waikato region align with those of Education New Zealand and a number of strategic priorities of Waikato Means Business.

This strategy, developed in consultation with major stakeholders, sets out the context and issues for international education in the Waikato. It identifies two strategic goals and eight strategic priorities to grow the contribution of international education to the region.
